Medical & Genetic Disclaimer
Last updated September 29, 2026
1. Educational and Informational Use Only
YouthfulDNA® (“YouthfulDNA,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides personalized genetic insights and related educational information for informational and wellness purposes through its website, products, DNA collection kits, reports, portals, customer support, educational materials, and related offerings (collectively, the “Services”).
YouthfulDNA® genetic-testing Services are intended only for adults age 18 and older.
YouthfulDNA® reports, website content, educational materials, genetic insights, skincare considerations, wellness information, and other materials provided through the Services are intended solely for educational and informational use.
They are not medical advice.
2. Not a Diagnostic or Clinical Test
YouthfulDNA® is a wellness-focused genetics company.
YouthfulDNA® is not a healthcare provider and is not a clinical laboratory.
YouthfulDNA® genetic reports are not intended to function as:
- Medical diagnostic tests;
- Disease-screening tests;
- Clinical laboratory tests ordered for diagnosis;
- Clinical decision-making tools; or
- Substitutes for testing ordered or interpreted by a qualified healthcare professional.
The Services are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, monitor, or prevent any disease, medical condition, or disorder.
A genetic tendency, association, or predisposition identified through a YouthfulDNA® report should not be interpreted as a diagnosis or as proof that a particular condition or outcome exists or will occur.
3. No Physician-Patient Relationship
Use of the YouthfulDNA® website, products, DNA collection kits, reports, portals, customer support, educational materials, or related Services does not create:
A physician-patient relationship;
A healthcare-provider relationship;
A clinical-care relationship;
A genetic-counselor relationship; or
A medical advisory relationship
between YouthfulDNA® and the customer.
4. Consult Qualified Healthcare Professionals
Customers should consult appropriately qualified healthcare professionals regarding medical concerns.
Depending on the question, this may include a:
- Physician;
- Dermatologist;
- Genetic counselor;
- Pharmacist;
- Registered dietitian; or
- Other appropriately licensed healthcare professional.
Do not disregard professional medical advice, delay seeking medical care, or rely solely on YouthfulDNA® information when making medical decisions.
Do not start, stop, change, or modify medication, medical treatment, supplementation prescribed for a medical condition, or other clinically significant healthcare decisions solely on the basis of YouthfulDNA® information.
5. Genetics Is Only One Part of the Picture
Genetic information represents only one factor among many that may influence skin characteristics, wellness traits, nutritional responses, and other biological characteristics.
Other factors may include:
- Age;
- Environment;
- Sun exposure;
- Lifestyle;
- Diet;
- Sleep;
- Stress;
- Skincare practices;
- Medications;
- Medical history;
- Family history;
- Hormonal factors;
- Exposures; and
- Other biological or environmental influences.
A genetic association does not establish that a trait or outcome will occur.
Likewise, the absence of a particular genetic finding does not establish that a trait, condition, or outcome cannot occur.
6. Genetic Testing and Genotyping Have Limitations
YouthfulDNA® genetic reports analyze selected genetic information relevant to the report purchased or requested.
YouthfulDNA® uses genotyping and genetic analysis rather than comprehensive sequencing of every portion of a customer’s genome.
The Services do not examine every gene, genetic variant, mutation, biological pathway, environmental influence, or factor that may be relevant to a particular characteristic or outcome.
Results and interpretations may be affected by:
- The genetic variants included in the analysis;
- Genotyping or laboratory limitations;
- Sample quality;
- Available scientific research;
- Statistical associations;
- Research design;
- Population representation in available studies;
- The strength and consistency of scientific evidence;
- Environmental and lifestyle factors; and
- Evolving scientific understanding.
Different genetic-testing companies may analyze different variants, use different technologies or methodologies, or apply different interpretation frameworks and therefore may provide different results or interpretations.
7. Scientific Knowledge Changes
Genetics and related scientific fields continue to evolve.
Scientific evidence, genetic associations, interpretation methods, reference populations, and understanding of biological pathways may change over time.
Information considered meaningful today may later be interpreted differently as research advances.
YouthfulDNA® does not guarantee that an existing report will automatically be updated, revised, or reinterpreted whenever new research becomes available.
A report reflects the information, methodology, and scientific understanding applicable when the report is generated.
8. Population and Research Limitations
Genetic research does not represent every population equally.
The strength or relevance of a genetic association may vary depending on ancestry, population characteristics, study size, study design, and available scientific evidence.
As a result, the explanatory or predictive value of a particular genetic association may differ among individuals and populations.
YouthfulDNA® does not guarantee that every reported association has the same relevance or strength for every individual.
9. Skin and Skincare Information
YouthfulDNA® may provide educational information concerning skin-related genetic tendencies and areas such as:
- Hydration;
- Elasticity;
- Antioxidant response;
- Sunlight response;
- Pigmentation;
- Wrinkle-related tendencies;
- Skin spots;
- Inflammatory or other skin-related characteristics; and
- Other areas included in an applicable genetic report.
Educational skincare considerations may also be provided.
This information is intended to help customers better understand genetic tendencies and possible considerations.
It is not a dermatological diagnosis, prescription, treatment plan, or substitute for evaluation by a dermatologist or other qualified healthcare professional.
Individual responses to skincare products, ingredients, routines, or procedures may vary.
Customers should discontinue use of a product and seek appropriate professional advice if they experience a concerning or adverse reaction.
10. Nutrition, Supplements, and Lifestyle Information
YouthfulDNA® may provide educational information concerning nutrition, supplements, lifestyle factors, ingredients, or wellness considerations.
Such information is general educational information and is not individualized medical, nutritional, pharmaceutical, or therapeutic advice.
YouthfulDNA® does not prescribe supplements, medications, diets, or treatment plans.
Before beginning or materially changing a supplement regimen, particularly if you take medications, have a medical condition, are pregnant or nursing, or are under medical care, consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
11. No Guarantee of Outcomes
YouthfulDNA® does not guarantee any particular:
- Health outcome;
- Skin outcome;
- Cosmetic outcome;
- Skincare result;
- Nutritional outcome;
- Lifestyle outcome;
- Wellness outcome; or
- Treatment outcome.
Genetic associations describe tendencies or relationships identified through scientific research. They do not determine an individual’s future.
Individual results and experiences vary.
12. Unexpected Genetic Information
Genetic testing may reveal information you did not expect.
Genetic information may also have implications for biological relatives or family relationships.
Even when a Service is focused on a particular wellness area, genetic information can carry personal or family significance.
Customers should consider these possibilities before choosing to undergo genetic testing or deciding whether to share genetic information with others.
13. Sharing, Downloading, or Disclosing Genetic Information
You are responsible for deciding whether and with whom to share your genetic reports or other genetic information.
Once you download, print, email, publish, upload, or otherwise disclose a report or genetic information outside systems controlled by YouthfulDNA® or its authorized providers, YouthfulDNA® may no longer be able to control:
- Its security;
- Its confidentiality;
- Its further use;
- Its reproduction; or
- Its redistribution.
Exercise care before sharing genetic information with third parties.
14. Third-Party Genetic-Testing, Laboratory, and Technology Providers
YouthfulDNA® may use authorized third-party genetic-testing, laboratory, technology, report-generation, portal, fulfillment, and other service providers in providing the Services.
These providers may perform functions including:
- Biological-sample processing;
- Genotyping;
- Genetic analysis;
- Quality-control procedures;
- Report generation;
- Technology infrastructure;
- Customer-portal services; and
- Report delivery.
YouthfulDNA® is not itself the laboratory performing the applicable genetic analysis.
Different providers may have separate professional, technical, laboratory, regulatory, or legal obligations applicable to their own activities.
15. Regulatory Status
Unless expressly stated otherwise for a particular Service, YouthfulDNA® does not represent its Services as FDA-cleared or FDA-approved diagnostic tests or medical devices.
YouthfulDNA® Services are offered for educational, informational, and wellness purposes and should not be used for diagnosis or treatment.
Statements concerning genetic associations, wellness information, or educational considerations do not represent FDA approval of YouthfulDNA®’s interpretations, reports, recommendations, or Services.
Nothing in YouthfulDNA® marketing or educational content should be interpreted as representing that a Service is intended for clinical diagnosis or treatment unless expressly stated for a specific Service and supported by applicable regulatory authorization.
16. Laboratory Credentials Do Not Make YouthfulDNA® a Medical Provider
Genetic testing may be performed through laboratory partners holding applicable certifications or accreditations.
References to laboratory credentials, including CLIA certification or CAP accreditation where applicable, describe credentials associated with the laboratory performing relevant laboratory activities.
Those credentials do not mean that:
- YouthfulDNA® itself is a clinical laboratory;
- YouthfulDNA® provides medical care;
- YouthfulDNA® establishes a physician-patient relationship;
- Every YouthfulDNA® Service is a clinical diagnostic test; or
- A YouthfulDNA® wellness report becomes medical advice.
17. Emergency Medical Situations
YouthfulDNA® should never be used to evaluate or respond to a medical emergency.
If you believe you may be experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency-services number, or seek immediate medical attention.
Do not wait for a YouthfulDNA® report, customer-support response, or other YouthfulDNA® communication before seeking emergency care.
18. Acceptance of This Disclaimer
By accessing or using YouthfulDNA® Services, you acknowledge that you have had the opportunity to review this Medical & Genetic Disclaimer.
Acceptance or acknowledgment of this Disclaimer does not constitute genetic-testing consent and does not replace any separate affirmative authorization or consent required for genetic testing, collection, use, disclosure, storage, or other processing of genetic information.
19. Relationship to Other YouthfulDNA® Policies
This Medical & Genetic Disclaimer should be read together with the YouthfulDNA®:
- Privacy Policy;
