We do not sell your identifiable genetic information.
We do not sell your DNA sample.
Genetic testing requires separate affirmative consent.
YouthfulDNA® genetic-testing Services are intended only for adults age 18 and older.
You may submit only your own biological sample.
Your general acceptance of our Terms of Service or Privacy Policy does not constitute genetic-testing consent.
Authorized genetic-testing, laboratory, and technology providers may process genetic information as necessary to provide Services you request.
Additional genetic reports based on previously generated genetic information are provided only when requested or appropriately authorized and subject to any additional consent required by law.
We do not use raw genetic data, specific genetic variants, genetic-test results, personalized genetic reports, or report contents for targeted third-party advertising.
Genetic-data deletion and destruction of a physical biological sample are separate processes.
We do not promise a routine biological-sample destruction period unless that period has been confirmed for the applicable Service and disclosed to you.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, obtain, delete, or otherwise control genetic information and to request destruction of a biological sample.
This summary is provided for convenience. The complete Notice below describes YouthfulDNA®’s genetic-privacy practices and applicable rights.
1. Scope of This Notice
This Genetic Privacy Notice explains how YouthfulDNA® (“YouthfulDNA,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) handles genetic information and biological samples in connection with YouthfulDNA® genetic-testing Services.
It should be read together with the YouthfulDNA®:
- Privacy Policy;
- Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy;
- Terms of Service;
- Refund Policy; and
- Medical & Genetic Disclaimer.
Where this Notice provides greater or more specific protection concerning genetic information or biological samples, the more specific genetic-privacy provision will apply.
2. What We Mean by Genetic Information
For purposes of this Notice, genetic information may include:
- DNA sample-identification information;
- Genotype information;
- Raw genetic data;
- Genetic variants;
- Genetic-analysis results;
- Personalized genetic reports;
- Genetic interpretations and educational insights;
- Information inferred or derived from genetic data; and
- Information concerning whether a consumer has requested or received genetic-testing Services where protected by applicable law.
A biological sample may include saliva, cheek-swab material, extracted DNA, or other biological material from which genetic information may be generated.
3. Genetic Privacy Disclosures Before Testing or Payment
YouthfulDNA® provides genetic-privacy disclosures before genetic testing is performed.
Where applicable law requires disclosure before accepting payment, a biological sample, or genetic data, YouthfulDNA® will provide the required genetic-privacy disclosures before that event occurs.
YouthfulDNA®’s checkout, registration, kit-activation, and consent processes are intended to ensure that applicable disclosures and required affirmative consent occur before genetic analysis is initiated.
Where required by applicable law, accelerated or express-payment options may not be used to bypass required genetic-privacy disclosures or genetic-testing consent.
4. Genetic Testing Consent
Genetic testing requires affirmative authorization or express consent where required by applicable law.
Genetic-testing consent is separate from:
- Accepting the Terms of Service;
- Acknowledging the Privacy Policy;
- Acknowledging this Genetic Privacy Notice;
- Merely purchasing a product; or
- Merely using the YouthfulDNA® website.
Where an affirmative consent step is required, consent must involve an intentional affirmative action and may not be inferred from silence or inactivity.
Where applicable law requires separate consent, YouthfulDNA® will obtain separate authorization for activities including:
- Continued storage of a biological sample after completion of the testing initially requested;
- Use of genetic information or a biological sample for a purpose beyond the primary purpose of the requested testing;
- Research requiring consent;
- Certain transfers or disclosures to third parties;
- Certain marketing involving genetic information or genetic-testing participation;
- Additional genetic reports based on existing genetic information when the new use falls outside the scope of prior consent; or
- Other secondary uses for which separate consent is required.
Consumers may withdraw or revoke applicable consent as permitted by law.
Withdrawal or revocation may affect YouthfulDNA®’s ability or the ability of authorized providers to:
- Complete testing;
- Maintain certain information;
- Maintain report access;
- Generate additional reports; or
- Provide Services dependent on the affected consent.
Withdrawal of consent does not necessarily require deletion of all information where continued retention is permitted or required by applicable law.
Consent requests may be submitted to:
5. Age and Sample Eligibility
YouthfulDNA® genetic-testing Services are intended only for individuals age 18 or older.
A customer registering or submitting a DNA collection kit represents that:
- The customer is at least 18 years old;
- The biological sample submitted is the customer’s own; and
- The customer has legal authority to provide the sample and related information.
Do not submit another person’s biological sample for YouthfulDNA® testing.
YouthfulDNA® does not knowingly provide its genetic-testing Services directly to children.
If YouthfulDNA® learns that a sample was submitted in violation of applicable age, ownership, identity, consent, or authorization requirements, YouthfulDNA® may suspend processing and take appropriate action consistent with applicable law and provider requirements.
6. Biological Samples
A biological sample submitted through YouthfulDNA® may be sent to an authorized genetic-testing or laboratory provider for processing.
The sample may be used to generate genetic information necessary to provide the genetic-testing Services requested by the consumer.
A physical biological sample, extracted genetic material, raw genotype information, analysis results, and generated reports are different types of records or materials and may be subject to different retention, deletion, and destruction procedures.
YouthfulDNA® does not promise a specific routine physical-sample destruction period unless that period has been confirmed for the applicable Service and disclosed to the consumer.
Where applicable law gives a consumer the right to revoke consent to continued sample storage or request destruction, YouthfulDNA® will coordinate with applicable providers to process the request within the period required by law.
7. Genetic-Testing, Laboratory, and Technology Providers
YouthfulDNA® is not a clinical laboratory.
DNA sample processing, genotyping, genetic analysis, technology infrastructure, report generation, report delivery, and related functions may be performed or supported by authorized genetic-testing, laboratory, and technology providers.

- Genetic information;
- Personal information necessary to associate the correct consumer with the correct report; and

YouthfulDNA® seeks to limit provider access to information reasonably necessary to perform authorized functions.
Where required by applicable law, provider agreements will address restrictions on unauthorized:
Retention;
Use;
Disclosure;
Combination;
Reidentification;
Transfer; or
Commercialization
of genetic information and biological samples.
Authorized providers may also be subject to legal or regulatory recordkeeping, laboratory, security, or other obligations.

9. Additional Genetic Reports From Existing Genetic Information
Certain YouthfulDNA® Services may permit additional genetic reports to be generated from genetic information previously produced from a consumer’s biological sample.
